American Indian Movement, Nuclear Disarmament, Gun Control

I attempted, in the now limited poster space remaining available after displaying the above categories, to include a selection of buttons most emblematic and representative of some of the most memorable and significant groups, people, and events within the above subject areas. Will we ever forget the grape, lettuce and wine boycotts.....the Aztec Eagle and Cesar Chavez? I'll be honest. I don't have as many buttons in this poster reflecting the American Indian Movement and its associated issues as I should have. Included among the two buttons I do have, however, is one referencing the 1973 siege at Wounded Knee. For the issue of gun "control", I decided not to include the obvious, butBoycott Lettuce rather wanted a button from the gun "rights" perspective. As for the nuclear disarmament movement, and associated efforts, I've selected a sampling of buttons covering a period from the early 1960s and the Committee for Nonviolent Action through SANE. As always, the historical narrative at the bottoms identifies many of the buttons and provides information on many of the events and sponsoring organizations and groups pertinent to each of these subject areas.
